Membership benefits and criteria
Introduction
By applying for membership of CoPSO, all companies are required to subscribe to the Search Code. Further details on how to register can be found on the Property Codes Compliance Board (PCCB) website - www.propertycodes.org.uk
The membership structure comprises three categories: Executive, Associate and Affiliate.
Membership benefits
Executive Members
- Executive members set the strategic direction of the organisation
- Executive members make the ultimate decisions in respect of all CoPSO affairs including the Search Code and its administration
- Executive members elect the Chairman
- Executive members are responsible for the prudential running of CoPSO
- The CoPSO Executive is responsible for appointing the Independent members of the PCCB Compliance Committee
- Free admission to the CoPSO Conference and any other CoPSO run events
- Support in respect of any issues with local authorities (including attendance at semi-annual Local Authority review meetings)
- Involvement with other relevant stakeholder organisations
- Receipt of all CoPSO communications such as newsletters and bulletins
- Use of the CoPSO Executive Member logo
Associate Members
- The right to provide input to CoPSO decision making through participation in on-line surveys and consultations and in specific working groups that may be established from time to time
- Receipt of CoPSO Executive meeting minutes once they have been signed off
- Free admission to the CoPSO Conference and any other CoPSO run events
- Support in respect of any issues with local authorities (including attendance at semi-annual Local Authority review meetings)
- Receipt of all CoPSO newsletters and bulletins
- Use of the CoPSO Associate Member logo
Affiliate Members
- Free admission to the CoPSO Conference and any other events
- Support in respect of any issues with local authorities (including attendance at semi-annual Local Authority review meetings)
- Receipt of all CoPSO newsletters and bulletins
- Use of the CoPSO Affiliate Member logo
CoPSO Partner
- Holding an event (either physical or virtual) for CoPSO members once a year – supported by CoPSO
- Promoting any special offer you may wish to make available for CoPSO members
- Free attendance at the annual CoPSO Conference, and any other CoPSO events
- Concessionary rates on sponsoring/exhibiting/speaking at the CoPSO Conference
- Placing an article/advertisement in the CoPSO Newsletter
- Use of a unique 'CoPSO Partner' logo to highlight your support
Search Code Subscriber
Search Code Subscribers do not receive any benefits of CoPSO membership and are not entitled to use the CoPSO logo. They must display the Search Code logo only.
ALL MEMBERS MUST:
- Pay the appropriate subscription within two months of the date of request for payment. Any late payment will result in the member being suspended
- Agree to be bound by both the terms of the Constitution and subscribe to the Search Code
- Provide evidence of professional indemnity insurance on request
- Provide three months’ notice of resignation and no fees paid will be refunded.
