3 July 2008 CoPSO appoint new Chief Executive
The Council of Property Search Organisations (CoPSO), the major trade association for the property search industry, today announces the appointment of Mervyn Pilley as their new chief executive.
Mr Pilley, formerly CEO of the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors, has been appointed with immediate effect, and he replaces outgoing Chairman, Fiona Hoyle, who held the position from September 2003 to May 2008.
Mr Pilley comes to the role with a strong history of working with trade and professional bodies. As a qualified accountant, he has held Chairman positions at the Association of Certified Bookkeepers and the Association of Financial Controllers and Administrators. He has also had a board level involvement with the Institute of Commerce, the Business Management Association and the Confederation of English Business.
Commenting on his appointment, Mervyn Pilley said:
“I am excited to be taking on the role of leading CoPSO, especially at such a challenging time for the property search industry. The industry has taken great strides in recent years in terms of improving standards to benefit consumers, but it is clear that much hard work is ahead in order to build on these achievements and ensure moving home is as simple and painless an experience as it can be.”
