Membership Benefits and Criteria
CoPSO has three categories of membership - open to all companies who produce, compile or retail property search reports.
Executive Members
Executive Membership is open to any company who wishes to be actively involved in formulating and implementing the organisation's strategy. The cost is £8,000 per annum and delivers the following benefits:

Directs CoPSO policy and agenda

Definitive vote on all tabled motions

May stand for election to the Board

Can join any working group
-
Receives all committee agendas, minutes, meeting reports and supporting papers

Receives all external consultation documentation and helps formulate draft responses

Use of Executive members’ logo

Receive Executive papers and regular updates

Name and web link on CoPSO website directory

Direct access to secretariat for advice, queries and assistance
Companies must have been trading for more than 2 years and require a PI of £5m
Associate Members
Membership is open to companies whose core business is sourcing and compiling property search reports but who do not meet Executive membership criteria or who prefer to be involved in the implementation rather than formulation of policy. Membership costs £3,000 per annum and delivers the following benefits:

Provides technical into into policy agenda

May be be invited or can apply to sit on any working group

Receives all working group papers and meeting reports

Receives all association wide communications and newsletters

Receives all policy position statements and guidance notes

May use the Associate Member logo
-
Will have name on Association website directory

Will have direct access to the secretariat for advice with policy queries and assistance
There is no minimum trading criteria but members are required to have a PI of £2m
Affiliate Members
Particularly suited to smaller companies or sole traders and those companies for whom search reports are an ancillary rather than core part of their business. This is essentially an information and advice service to ensure you are up to date with all relevant legislative and commercial developments. Membership costs £1,500 pa for companies and £600 for sole traders and delivers the following benefits:.

Attendance at regular CoPSO workshops and members' events

May use the Associate Member logo

Will have name on Association website directory

Will have direct access to the secretariat for advice with
policy queries and assistance
Other Criteria
-
Pay the appropriate subscription within three months of the date of request for payment.

Provide written agreement to be bound by both the terms of the Constitution and the Search Code (where appropriate), agreed by the Executive Committee.

Provide of evidence of professional indemnity insurance to a level specified by the Executive Committee, (where appropriate).

Provide three months notice of resignation.
Note: Admission for membership is at the discretion of the Executive Committee. Executive and Associate fee levels are reduced by 20% if you are also a member of FPIP, AHIPP or PEPA
